Vineyard and terroir

The grapes grow in the hills of Chianti at an altitude of 270 metres.

Grapes

Sangiovese accounts for 90% of the blend, completed by Canaiolo and Colorino.

Vinification

Maceration and fermentation take place in stainless-steel tanks for 15 days at 26 °C.

Ageing

The wine ages for six months in oak barriques. After bottling, it matures for at least another four months in the winery’s cellars.

Label / history

The family-owned Cecchi company was founded in Tuscany in 1893 by wine broker Luigi Cecchi. It is now led by brothers Cesare and Andrea Cecchi. The family’s approach remains traditional, with an emphasis on elegance and a long finish rather than high alcohol, and it does not produce Super Tuscan wines.
