Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie at 250 m above sea level on alkaline, stony soils.
Grapes
Sangiovese is supplemented by a small proportion of other red varieties.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in September. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks for 15 days at temperatures not exceeding 26 °C.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in barriques and tonneaux, followed by three months in bottle in the winery’s cellars.
Label / history
The family-owned Cecchi company was founded in Tuscany in 1893 by wine broker Luigi Cecchi and has been involved in Tuscan winemaking for more than a century. It is now led by brothers Cesare and Andrea Cecchi. The family has remained committed to traditional wines and does not produce Super Tuscan wines.
