Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese grows in the Brunello area at 350 metres above sea level. The vineyards face south and southwest, on mixed soils with a small clay component.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates, then destemmed and gently pressed at the winery. Skin maceration lasts 20 days, followed by fermentation in stainless-steel tanks at 28–30 °C.
Ageing
The wine matures for 36–40 months in wooden barrels of 10 and 35 hectolitres, followed by at least six months in bottle. Around two further years of cellaring allows it to show its full character.
Tasting profile
Harmonious, flavourful and well structured, with a juicy, rich palate.
