Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on mineral-rich clay soils in the Trevenezie area, encompassing Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Veneto and the province of Trentino in Trentino-Alto Adige. The climate is mild, with low rainfall and moderate humidity, allowing the fruit to reach full ripeness and develop balanced flavour.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo traditional vinification at a controlled temperature. Modern equipment is used in the production of the range.
Tasting profile
Juicy and well balanced.
Serving and pairing
Pairs with white meat, fried or grilled meat, guinea fowl with fresh thyme, and game seasoned with aromatic herbs.
Label / history
The range takes its name from the ruins known as the Castles of Romeo and Juliet near Montorso Vicentino. In 1530, writer Luigi da Porto lived in a villa there, close to two castles associated with the Montecchi and Capuleti families. Historians maintain that the medieval ruins visible from his window inspired his novella La Giulietta, which later inspired Shakespeare’s play.
