Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the company’s vineyards in the Berici Hills (Colli Berici), a series of ancient volcanic formations between Verona and Padua. The area has a very mild, sunny, Mediterranean-like climate and a history of grape growing extending over thousands of years.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested only at optimal ripeness. The wine is made from Garganega and Trebbiano grape juice, with carbon dioxide added to create its sparkle.
Label / history
Cielo e Terra was founded in 1908. Its name combines terra, the Italian word for “earth,” and Cielo, the founding family’s surname. The company began expanding and improving production under Pietro Cielo in 1930, and established new vineyards in 1962. It is now led by fourth-generation brothers Luca and Pierpaolo Cielo and owns around 300 ha of land.
The winery belongs to Gruppo Cantine Colli Berici, whose members collectively cultivate around 4,000 ha of vineyards. Cielo e Terra also participates with the group’s winemakers in a project to improve winegrowing and production across the Berici Hills, from vineyard to bottle.
