Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from restored old Carmenere vineyards on the Euganean Hills in Lispida. The vines grow at 20–120 metres above sea level on hills with varied aspects. The soils are medium-textured clay with outcrops of trachyte and shale. Viticulture at the site dates to the late nineteenth century.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and macerated on their skins for about 10 days. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures for several months in oak barrels, followed by two months in bottle in the winery’s cellars before release.
Label / history
