Grapes

Malvasia.

Vinification

Fermentation took place in a combination of new French and American oak barriques.

Ageing

The wine matured for 14 months in new French and American oak barriques. It was bottled with a composite DIAM closure. Production was limited to 2,222 bottles.

Tasting profile

Warm, full-bodied and enveloping. An initial impression of sweetness is balanced by fresh acidity and a fine, persistent structure. Oak maturation lends softness and brings vanilla, hazelnut and lightly toasted flavours into harmony with the wine’s aromatic richness.

The complex bouquet offers ripe pineapple and mango, candied citrus and dried apricot, layered with vanilla, toasted almond, honey, delicate spice and sweet wood. Subtle smoky and caramel nuances complete the aromatic profile.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 12 °C. The wine’s buttery, toasted oak character complements creamy dishes, while Malvasia’s aromatic freshness provides balance. Suggested pairings include prawn and zucchini risotto, lemon tagliolini with scampi, and pasta with smoked salmon and cream. It also accompanies semi-aged or hard cheeses with sweet or nutty notes, such as aged Pecorino and 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano, as well as mild blue cheeses.

Label / history

One Shot is an annual experimental project devoted to a different wine concept at every harvest; each edition is conceived as a stand-alone release that will not be reproduced. A different artist or visual approach is selected for every annual label collection. The 2023 edition features a photograph by Alberto di Lenardo, the winemaker’s grandfather, whose lifelong photographic work began receiving public recognition after his death.
