Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the 3-hectare, south-facing Vigna Chiniera vineyard in Monforte d'Alba, at 320–360 metres above sea level. The soils are calcareous, medium-textured and slightly sandy. The vines average 15 years of age.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand during the middle ten days of October. Fermentation lasts 12–16 days in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, with daily pump-overs, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for two years in 25-hectolitre Slavonian oak casks. It is usually bottled in August and then rests for a further 8–10 months in the estate’s cellars.
Tasting profile
Elegant and delicate, reflecting the distinctive hillside terroir of Monforte d'Alba.
Label / history
The wine was first produced in 1978.
