Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Montegrilli, one of the region's oldest vineyards, on chalky, limestone-rich soils that give the wine elegance and a gentle mineral note.
Vinification
Harvest runs from late September to early October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with automatic pumping over.
Ageing
The wine is aged in stainless steel tank for 8 months, then rests a further six months in bottle. Unlike traditional Barolo it sees no oak, which keeps its bright freshness and clear varietal character.
Tasting profile
A light, floral Nebbiolo with elegance, a gentle mineral note, bright freshness and clear varietal character.
Label / history
Elvio Cogno also makes wines from Ravera, one of the important crus in the commune of Novello. The Cogno family has made wine for four generations. The estate works with a few local varieties (Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Nascetta) in a historic winery equipped with modern technology.
