Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown at Tenuta di Tauriano in the Friuli Grave area. The vineyards occupy gently sloping hillside terraces at 400 metres above sea level. The surrounding landscape includes coastal plains, mountains and plateaus. Alpine peaks shelter the province, which borders Austria and Slovenia, from harsh cold winds, while the Adriatic Sea cools hot summers and moderates abrupt winter temperature changes. Sea breezes move north towards the hills at dawn and return south towards the coast in the evening, limiting fungal disease and helping to keep the vines healthy. Rainfall is generally heavy but brief, and the climate is bright and sunny, supporting the ripening of juicy, aromatic fruit.
Ageing
The wine matures in oak barrels, which soften and round the palate and contribute forest-floor notes to the aroma.

Classic and well balanced, with a soft, rounded palate and hints of forest floor on the nose.
Label / history
Fantinel owner Mario Fantinel previously ran several hotels and restaurants. His decision to turn to the land led to the creation of the Fantinel family business in Friuli, where he brought the same close attention to detail that had guided his hospitality career.
