Vineyard and terroir
The Aglianico comes from the estate’s namesake Piano di Montevergine vineyard, where the vines grow alongside olive and hazelnut trees.
Vinification
Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless-steel tanks over three weeks.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in medium-toast French oak barrels, followed by a further 24 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
The 2002 vintage has notes of black fruit and berries, with mineral nuances that add complexity.
