Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the south-facing Montemarano vineyard in the hills of Avellino, within the Taurasi DOCG area, 50 km northeast of Naples. The vines are around 10 years old and grow at 500 m above sea level on clay-limestone soils, yielding 6 tonnes per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested from late October to early November and gently pressed at the winery. A long maceration takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 23–25 °C. Alcoholic fermentation is followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 30 months in French and Slavonian oak barrels.
Label / history
Radici Riserva carries a white label, in contrast to the black label used for Radici. White labels are traditionally reserved for aged wines from outstanding vintages.
