Vineyard and terroir
The Glera and Pinot Nero are grown organically and biodynamically at the historic family estate of Tenuta Civranetta, near the Venetian Lagoon. The vineyards lie on dense loamy clay soils containing limestone concretions. Proximity to the sea and exposure to its breezes give the fruit a distinctive character and enhance its aromas.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and pressed. The two varieties undergo their initial fermentations separately. After the base wine has stabilised, it undergoes a second fermentation by the Charmat method for at least 10 weeks, producing finer bubbles. No dosage is added.
