Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from north-facing vineyards at the Gelso Grande estate, 300 m above sea level on clay soils. Planting density is 4,200 vines per hectare, with yields limited to 8,000 kg/ha.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand during the first ten days of August and gently pressed, with juice yield capped at 60%. Alcoholic fermentation lasts 20 days under temperature-controlled conditions at 16–18 °C.
Ageing
The wine matures on its lees for two months, followed by one month in bottle.
Tasting profile
The palate is refined and elegant.
