Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Pianoro Cuddia estate in Trapani. The vineyards lie at 130–250 metres, face southwest and west, and have limestone and clay soils. Planting density is 5,500–6,000 vines per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand during the first two ten-day periods of September. Traditional red-wine vinification comprises a ten-day fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks at 24–26 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages for ten months in French and American oak barriques, followed by approximately five months in bottle in the winery’s cellars.
Tasting profile
Warm and charming, with regal elegance, juicy fruit and a silky texture. The blend is balanced, and the finish is notably persistent.
Serving and pairing
Serve in rounded glasses with a slightly narrower rim.
