Storia

1920 – Foundation

Cantine Minini was founded in 1920 by Francesco Minini, a young soldier returning from the First World War. With limited means but great determination, he began making wine in the countryside at a time when the market offered few opportunities. A love of the land, along with passion, dedication and humility, became central to how the family has run the business ever since.

Growth through the 20th century

As Italy's economic and social conditions improved during the 20th century, the company grew and its wines reached customers across the country.

Post-war expansion

After the Second World War, Francesco Minini was joined by his two sons, Franco and Battista, and the business expanded throughout Italy with renewed enthusiasm, during a period of national economic rebuilding.

Early 1960s – New winery

By the early 1960s, the company's rapid growth led the Minini family to move to a new winery. Despite later expansion and restoration, this site remains the company's headquarters today.

Expansion and third generation

Over the following years the family developed partnerships with grape growers in all of Italy's main wine-producing regions, broadening its range and preparing to enter international markets. The task of establishing the company in the world's leading and highly competitive markets passed to the third generation.

Today

Exports now account for 90% of the company's total turnover. Its presence in international markets helps the team follow global demand and use those insights when selecting and developing new products. The company seeks out new wines from Italy's distinctive old vineyards and uses modern winemaking technology to bring renewed value to Italian traditions, producing a range of wines from southern Italy—especially Sicily, Puglia and Campania—as well as Veneto, Abruzzo and Tuscany.
