Vineyard and terroir
Ca’ Marcanda’s vineyards lie in Bolgheri, in the Castagneto Carducci area. The site combines light, stony terre bianche with dark, clay-rich terre brune. The stony plots provide good drainage and concentrate aromas, while the clay retains moisture, helping the grapes preserve balance and a soft texture. Together, the soils give the fruit a vivid yet harmonious flavour.
Vinification
Each grape variety is vinified separately. Fermentation and maceration last approximately 15 days, with controlled extraction of colour, aromas and tannins. The separate wines are subsequently blended.
Ageing
The wines mature in oak barrels for 12 months. After blending and bottling, the wine rests for several more months in the winery’s cellars.
Tasting profile
Rich in flavour, with spicy and woody notes from oak ageing. The texture is soft, and further maturation after blending brings a cohesive, balanced character.
Serving and pairing
Pair with meat-based dishes.
Label / history
The name Magari comes from an Italian word used to express hope for a bright future.
