Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
Most of the fruit comes from Barbaresco and Treiso, with a smaller portion sourced from vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba and Barolo.
Vinification
Each variety is fermented separately on its skins at a constant temperature to preserve its individual character. The wines are blended only after malolactic fermentation, which softens the acidity.
Ageing
The wine rests in oak barrels for 6–8 months.
Tasting profile
Lively, approachable and elegant, with generous fruit flavours and a clean, intense aroma. The palate is harmonious and smooth, with balanced acidity, while the nose also carries toasted notes. It is accessible when young and retains its appeal as it matures.
Serving and pairing
Allow the wine to breathe for at least 1–2 hours before serving.
Label / history
“Sito Moresco” means “Moresco’s place” and takes its name from the former owner of one of the vineyards in Pajorè, Treiso. The label depicts pheasants found in the woods bordering Gaja’s vineyards.
