Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Santo Stefano vineyard, which forms part of the larger Albesani vineyard in the commune of Neive. The vines average 20–30 years of age, with yields of approximately 45 hl/ha. All fruit is purchased from long-standing growers, with Bruno Giacosa personally overseeing its quality.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. If the finished wine does not meet the winery’s standards, it is not bottled.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in French Allier oak barrels, followed by two months in bottle.
Label / history
Santo Stefano is the oldest wine produced by Bruno Giacosa. Selected examples from exceptional vintages receive a red label and the Reserva designation.
