Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
Primitivo from flat vineyards in the Manduria countryside, rooted in clay-limestone soil. The vines are trained as classic Apulian alberello in the form known as “hare’s ears.”
Grapes
Primitivo.
Vinification
Harvest takes place in late August. Bunches are picked by hand into plastic crates, carefully selected and transported in a refrigerated truck. Selection on a sorting table is followed by destemming and gentle crushing. Maceration takes place in a 70 hL stainless-steel tank, with 2–3 weeks of skin contact, temperature control of the cap and two délestages each day. The skins are pressed with a vertical hydraulic press.
Ageing
The wine matures in oak for approximately nine months. It is bottled without fining agents or induced tartaric precipitation, then rests for about six months before release.
Label / history
The name draws on the Self as an expansion of consciousness: the place where creativity is activated and future possibilities develop. Realisation of the Self is portrayed as the goal reached after the difficult path towards self-fulfilment.
