Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the Mamoiada region on granite soils. Together with the local climate, the soils promote structure and concentration, while their mineral salts contribute aromatic intensity.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at the end of October. Fermentation is spontaneous and lasts around 20 days at 20–34 °C, followed by maceration. The wine is bottled without filtration.
Ageing
The wine rests for at least 24 months in large 40 hL glass vessels, followed by at least six months of maturation in bottle.
Tasting profile
Aromatic and structured, with an intense nose.
Label / history
Giuseppe Sedilesu was founded by Giuseppe and Grazia Sedilesu 35 years before the source was written. The family initially sold its grapes to other producers, then began making wine under its own name in 2000. Production doubled over the following decade, during which a new cellar was built.
The estate is now run by the founders’ three children and their families: Antonietta and her husband Emilio, Francesco and his wife Rosa, and Salvatore and his wife Mariella. Giuseppe and Grazia have 13 grandchildren. The winery is a member of the administrative board of the Consorzio di Tutela del DOC Cannonau di Sardegna and participates in the “La Strada del vino Cannonau” project.
