Vineyard and terroir

The technical sheet places the vineyards in the province of Chieti, on Abruzzo’s Adriatic coast. The sites are well exposed, with clay-and-limestone soils, and the vines are trained to the pergola system.

Grapes

Sangiovese.

Vinification

The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then given a two-day cold maceration. Maceration and fermentation continue at 20–22°C for 9–11 days.

Ageing

Between 10% and 20% of the wine is aged in oak, while the balance remains in stainless steel.

Tasting profile

Garnet red. The aroma is intense and persistent, combining fruit, a vinous note and a woody nuance. Medium-bodied, balanced and ready to drink, with well-defined tannins.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 16–18°C with charcuterie, meatballs in tomato sauce, grilled meat or chops.

The winemakers are Francesco De Santis and Rino Santeusanio.
