Vineyard and terroir
The production area is the province of Chieti in Abruzzo. The Sangiovese grows in well-exposed vineyards on the region’s Adriatic coast, on clay-limestone soils, with the vines trained to pergola.
Grapes
Sangiovese.
Vinification
The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then undergo a two-day cold maceration. Maceration and fermentation continue for 9–11 days at 20–22°C.
Ageing
Between 10% and 20% of the wine matures in oak, while the balance remains in stainless steel.
Tasting profile
Garnet red. The nose is intense and persistent, combining fruit with vinous and woody notes. Medium-bodied, balanced and ready to drink, with well-defined tannins.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18°C. Pair with charcuterie, meatballs in tomato sauce, grilled meat or chops.
