Vineyard and terroir
The 2 ha Poggio vineyard is located at Monte la Guardia, on the northern slope of Mount Etna. Its approximately 100-year-old vines grow on solidified-lava terraces among chestnut trees, at a planting density of 10,000 vines per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the second half of October. Fermentation is followed by extended skin contact. The wine is bottled without filtration.
Ageing
The wine matures in small 225 L barrels for approximately 24 months, followed by 2–3 years in bottle depending on the vintage.

Elegant and refined, with a distinctive expression of its variety and volcanic terroir.
