Vineyard and terroir
The Muti vineyard lies on the Chiaramonte Gulfi plain, in the commune of Chiaramonte Gulfi, at 400 m above sea level. Planted in 1999, it has a density of 8,300 vines per hectare.
Grapes
The blend uses several Chardonnay clones together with Carricante and Albanello, two native white varieties from eastern Sicily.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the second half of September and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation also takes place in stainless-steel vats.
Ageing
The wine ages for eight months in stainless-steel vats, followed by several months in bottle in the winery’s cellar before release.
