1954\nAfter completing his military service, Italo Cescon decided to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, Domenico, and start a small family winery.\n\n### Origin of the vine-twig symbol\nOne hot summer day, Italo's mother, Anna Cescon, was gathering pruned vines in the family vineyard and slipped a few small pieces into her pocket. She and her son tied the twigs around the neck of a bottle to show that the homemade wine had been made from grapes grown on that very vine.\n\n### 1957\nAt a family meeting, the family decided to attach a small piece of grapevine to every bottle. This symbol became the signature of Italo Cescon.\n\n### 1970s\nThe company's wines found success across Europe.\n\n### Mid-1980s\nThe winery upgraded its equipment, while some of the old vines were uprooted and replanted to form the basis of the La Cesura vineyard.\n\n### Today\nItalo Cescon is run by the family's third generation, led by Gloria, Graziella and Domenico.
