Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie on the steep hillsides of Tramin, on light, well-aerated granite soils that warm quickly in spring. These conditions help the grapes ripen evenly and develop an intense range of aromas.
Vinification
After crushing, the grapes stay in contact with their skins for several hours at a low temperature, gently extracting aromatic compounds. They are then delicately pressed and the must is clarified. Fermentation takes place at a steady 20 °C, which preserves the purity and complexity of the bouquet.
Ageing
The wine spends 6 months in stainless steel tanks to keep its fresh taste.
Tasting profile
Bright aroma and rich flavour; expressive and pure, with an intense range of aromas.
Label / history
The Hofstatter winery has carried the name of its founder, Josef Hofstatter, for more than a century. It has grown gradually, expanding its vineyards and cellars and combining family traditions with innovative methods. Its vineyards lie on both sides of the Adige Valley, in different climate zones at 250 to 750 m above sea level, on soils that vary with the geology of each area. The family uses only organic fertilizers in its vineyards.
