Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from south-facing, high-altitude sites in South Tyrol, at 350–480 m above sea level. The soils consist of limestone layers irregularly mixed with loamy quartzite and silica. Cool autumn winds contribute bright acidity and a savoury edge.
Vinification
Alcoholic fermentation takes place at low temperature.
Ageing
The wine rests for an extended period on its lees, adding complexity.

Bright acidity is accompanied by a savoury edge and complexity.

In the South Tyrolean dialect, “Pichl” denotes the highest slope in a gently hilly area.
