Kurtatsch

The Kurtatsch estate lies in the south of South Tyrol, an area with a distinctive microclimate. Summer temperatures above 40°C are not uncommon, while warm autumn days alternate with cold nights, allowing the grapes to reach what is called "Hang Time," a point where optimal ripeness is matched by excellent acidity.

The vineyards are planted on slopes and hills between 200 and 900 meters above sea level. The mountainside soils are well-drained and mainly limestone, with clay present in some areas.

Only completely healthy grapes are used in the wines produced by the estate.

The winery uses modern technology, including refrigeration equipment and stainless steel tanks fitted with sensors that monitor fermentation temperature. Wines are aged in new oak barrels. Only completely healthy grapes are used, and every wine is assessed by expert tasters before bottling.

The estate holds that Kurtatsch wines have a distinctive character closely linked to their origin, one that cannot be reproduced elsewhere.
