Vineyard and terroir
The Nebbiolo comes from several sites in the north-east of Barolo. Some vines are more than 100 years old and produce extremely low yields.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand from late September to early October. The must undergoes two days of cold skin maceration before fermenting for ten days in open wooden vats.
Ageing
The wine matures for 22 months in 300- and 500-L French oak barrels of different ages and from different coopers.
Tasting profile
Silky and harmonious, with a well-defined structure.
Label / history
In Piedmontese dialect, “Sto let” means “bed”, a name accompanied by a reference to the age of the century-old vines. Production in 2012 totalled 1,083 bottles.
