Vineyard and terroir

The 2025 technical sheet places the hillside vineyards in the Monte Vulture area around Venosa, Basilicata, at 350 m above sea level. The vines were planted in 2000 and are espalier-trained with Guyot pruning at a density of 3,300 vines per hectare. The soil is loose and dry, volcanic and predominantly tuffaceous, with the characteristic colour of pozzolanic terrain and a good mineral presence. Yield is 100 quintals per hectare.

Grapes

Malvasia.

Vinification

The grapes are picked by hand into crates during the first ten days of September. Following pressing and destemming, the must remains in contact with the skins for approximately 24 hours at 5–8°C to extract varietal aromas. It is then racked and fermented in stainless-steel tanks at 14–15°C until alcoholic fermentation is complete.

Ageing

The wine matures for four months on the lees in stainless-steel tanks at 10°C. Bottling normally coincides with the cool spring season, followed by at least two months of bottle ageing before release.

Technical data

The selected technical sheet covers the 2025 vintage. Alcohol is 12.5% vol.

Tasting profile

Green reflections brighten the straw-yellow colour and introduce the wine’s freshness and tenacity. Fruity and floral aromas alternate continuously: stone fruit and exotic fruit are interwoven with delicate flowers and a fresh herbal note. The sensory complexity resolves into a fine balance between aroma and flavour.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 10–12°C. Its range includes elaborate seafood dishes, vegetable-based first and main courses from the Lucanian tradition, and fresh or lightly aged cheeses.
