Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from hillside vineyards at Impruneta, near Firenze, at 220 m above sea level. The vines face south-west and grow in clay-shale soils.

Grapes

Predominantly Sangiovese and Canaiolo. The technical sheet describes the blend as Sangiovese with complementary varieties.

Vinification

Harvest takes place during the first ten days of October. Vinification is carried out in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine matures in stainless steel and 32 q oak casks, followed by at least six months in bottle.

Technical data

Alcohol: approximately 13%.

Tasting profile

Red in colour with light garnet nuances. The bouquet is broad, complex and gently fruity, bringing together earthy mineral notes with chocolate, spice and leather. Medium-bodied on the palate, with articulated, fairly dense tannins balanced by acidity and good volume. The finish is long, mineral and spicy.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 18–19°C. Pair with red or white meat dishes, mushrooms, pâtés and aged hard cheeses.
