Storia
Le Casematte began as a young company, growing out of founder Gianfranco Sabbatino's dream of making wines with a distinctive character and story, relying only on native grape varieties farmed organically. The company came to be owned by 4 partners, among them the well-known Italian footballer Andrea Barzagli, with Fabrizio Zardini serving as chief winemaker. In recent years, the winery has expanded and improved its storage facilities and tasting room.
