Vineyard and terroir

The 2024 fruit comes from Tupungato in Valle de Uco, at an average altitude of 1,000 metres. The vines average 20 years of age. This limited-edition Malbec was conceived in Engineer Arizu’s notebooks and is made without chemical intervention in the vineyard or winery. The process is certified organic by LETIS S.A.

Grapes

100% Malbec.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested manually, followed by bunch selection and destemming. A cold pre-fermentation maceration takes place at 8°C. Fermentation follows in stainless-steel vats at a controlled 22–26°C with selected yeasts that are not genetically modified. Manual punch-downs extract colour and polyphenols.

Ageing

After alcoholic fermentation, 30% of the wine ages for 10 months in third-use 500-litre oak barrels. The wine is then gently filtered and bottled.

Technical data

2024: 13.7% alcohol, pH 3.6, total acidity 5.41 g/L and residual sugar 2 g/L. Recommended serving temperature is 16–18°C. The stated ageing potential for this vintage is 2 years.

Tasting profile

The 2024 is deep red with violet highlights. Blackberry, plum and blueberry aromas are complemented by delicate dried-herb nuances and vanilla. The palate is approachable and juicy, with rounded tannins and lively, refreshing acidity. It retains clear Malbec character and finishes persistently with savoury fruit.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 16–18°C. Suggested pairings include red meat, pasta and hard cheese.

Label / history

This was the first Luigi Bosca wine made without chemical intervention in either the estate or cellar. The limited-edition project originated in Engineer Arizu’s notebooks and was created to express the Uco Valley terroir with purity and precision.
