Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from selected plots in Las Compuertas, Vistalba and Agrelo in Luján de Cuyo, at an average altitude of 800 metres. The wine is produced under the regulations of the Luján de Cuyo Controlled Denomination of Origin.

Grapes

100% Malbec.

Vinification

For the 2024 vintage, the grapes were harvested by hand into 18–20 kg boxes. Bunch selection was followed by destemming and berry selection. The must underwent a five-to-seven-day cold maceration at 8–10°C, then fermented for ten days in small stainless-steel tanks at 24–28°C. Punch-downs and délestage provided extraction. A post-fermentation maceration followed alcoholic fermentation.

Ageing

Malolactic fermentation took place in oak barrels, followed by 12 months of barrel ageing. The wine was then filtered and bottled and rested in the cellar for at least six months before release.

Technical data

The 2024 vintage has 14.2% alcohol, total acidity of 5.4, pH 3.40 and 2.3 g/L residual sugar. Cellaring potential is 10 years.

Tasting profile

Bright violet in colour. The 2024 profile combines fresh plum and strawberry with spice and lightly toasted nuances from barrel ageing. The palate is round, concentrated, full-bodied and smooth, with firm tannins and balanced acidity. The broader house description adds ripe cherry, coffee-like roasted tones and a long, compact finish marked by energy and character.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 15–18°C.

Label / history

De Sangre originated as the designation for cuvées selected by the family to share with those closest to them, a tradition maintained for more than 125 years across four generations.
