Label / history
Villa Margon was built in the sixteenth century and retains frescoes painted by Italian Renaissance artists on the orders of Emperor Charles V.
Wine merchant Bruno Lunelli became Giulio Ferrari’s business partner in the 1950s and bought the Ferrari brand in 1952. He transferred the company to his sons Gino, Franco and Mauro in 1969. After Mauro Lunelli spent years researching and experimenting with wine flavours and styles from around the world, the brothers began making dry still wines in the 1980s. The family subsequently acquired vineyards around Trento to control grape growing and harvesting. Its five vineyards are Villa Margon, Villa Gentilotti, Villa San Nicolo, Maso Le Viane and Maso Montalto.
