Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the San Guglielmo and San Michele vineyards, whose vines grow in clay-limestone soils. The San Guglielmo vineyard was planted near the ruins of the ancient Church of Saint William and has particular significance for the owners because their grandfather purchased it.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in October and fermented in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures in French oak barrels for 18–24 months, followed by one year in bottle.
Label / history
The name “San Guglielmo” refers to the nearby Church of Saint William, built in 1200 and now in ruins. Malvira began producing wine in the 1950s under Giuseppe Damonte and remains a family business, now run by his sons, Massimo and Roberto.
