Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from Mareit Leiten, Vogelleiten and Panholzer. Mareit Leiten lies at 350 m on a very steep, south-facing slope with prolonged sun exposure. Its warm gravelly soil contains morainic deposits. Vogelleiten and Panholzer have clay-limestone gravel soils.

Grapes

100% Goldmuskateller, also identified as Golden Muscat.

Vinification

The destemmed berries macerated in the press for 12 hours to draw aroma and structure from the skins. Fermentation took place in wooden barrels and stainless-steel tanks, predominantly spontaneously with indigenous yeasts.

Ageing

Five months on the fine lees refined the wine’s aroma and flavour.

Technical data

The 2025 wine has 12% alcohol, 4.9 g/L acidity and 0.4 g/L residual sugar. Vineyard yield was 33 hL/ha, and 12,800 bottles were filled. The wine is biodynamic, Respekt-BIODYN certified and vegan.

Tasting profile

Bright straw yellow. Delicate nutmeg, cedarwood and grapefruit aromas lead to a fruity, juicy and mineral palate with a persistent finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 8–10 °C. It works as an aperitif and accompanies Asian cuisine and mature hard cheeses. The recommended drinking window is 2026–2031.

Vintage notes

The 2025 season opened with early budbreak and a warm spring, followed by flowering in mid-May. July and August delivered abundant sunshine and moderate rainfall. September rain demanded precise work and careful hand harvesting. The Muscat was picked in mid-October with golden-yellow berries and particularly intense aromas; yield was limited to 33 hL/ha.
