Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from plots in the municipalities of Barbaresco and Treiso: the Martinenga vineyard in Barbaresco and the Monte Aribaldo estate in Treiso. The plots lie at varying altitudes and have southern, northern and western exposures.
Vinification
After pressing, the must is clarified and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for four months. It is then bottled under sterile conditions and held for a short additional period in the winery’s cellars.
Tasting profile
Fairly bold in character, with an intense, layered aroma and a pleasant, well-structured palate.
Label / history
This wine is a recent addition to the estate’s range of whites. The di Gresy family owned vineyards by the eighteenth century, initially selling its grapes rather than making wine. Alberto di Gresy produced the estate’s first wine in 1973. Today, Marchesi di Gresy comprises three estates across Langhe and Monferrato. Wines made at Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresy are entitled to carry the name of the Martinenga province on their labels.
