Vineyard and terroir
The Nebbiolo grows in the historic Barolo area on limestone and sandy soils. The vines are 35 years old on average.
Vinification
The grapes are usually harvested by hand in the first week of October, then sorted, destemmed and crushed. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 28 °C for 30 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in oak barrels.
Ageing
The wine ages in oak for eight months.
Serving and pairing
Pair with red meat, game, roasts, cheese or cured meats.
Label / history
The name Nebbiolo evokes the misty foothills of the Western Alps: the Italian word nebbia means “fog.”
