1957 – Foundation

Gian Piero Marrone bought a small farm in the heart of the Langhe and planted vines together with his son. In the early years the family made wine only for themselves and a few regular customers.

Growth

Over time, more family members joined the business, the customer base grew, and the winery entered international markets.

Today

The founder's great-grandchildren continue the family tradition while developing their expertise through higher education in related fields. Serena Marrone focuses on marketing and is an experienced sommelier. Denis Marrone holds an academic degree, speaks several foreign languages fluently, and works to expand the winery's markets. Marrone wines are now exported to 26 countries.

The estate's vineyards are located in different areas with varied soils, with each grape variety planted in the position best suited to it.

The vines, almost 60 years old, are grown without chemicals or pesticides and are harvested by hand.

Traditional winemaking methods are used to produce wines with aging potential. The wine is bottled on special lines without exposure to oxygen in order to preserve its quality. The winery produces 200 thousand bottles a year.

The family describes itself as combining four generations of experience in the vineyards with continued investment in education: the founder's great-grandchildren are developing their expertise through higher education in related fields while carrying on the family tradition.
