Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The wine comes exclusively from the "Bricco di Doriolo" vineyard, where all the vines were planted by Celso Abbona. The vines are more than 65 years old and give concentrated, full-bodied fruit.
Vinification
The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then fermented spontaneously in stainless steel tanks. This approach preserves and expresses the character shaped by the grape variety and terroir. The wine stays in contact with the skins for greater extraction. Malolactic fermentation softens the acidity. Stabilization at low temperatures avoids the need for fining agents.
Ageing
The wine first matures in concrete and clay vessels, then ages further in bottle.
Tasting profile
Softness and intensity are in balance. The style is rich and luxurious, though the 2024 may seem less deep than earlier vintages.
Vintage notes
The 2024 is the latest vintage. It may seem less deep than previous years, but it remains rich and luxurious in style.
Label / history
The wine is named after Celso Abbona, father of Marciano Abbona, who planted all the vines in the "Bricco di Doriolo" vineyard.
