Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from two vineyards. “Colle di Rosina,” near San Martino, lies at 400 m above sea level on predominantly clay soils; its vines average 30 years of age. “Arenile,” near Ripa Teatina, lies at 250 m above sea level, with gravelly, sandy soils and vines averaging eight years of age.

Ageing
The wine matures in new French oak barrels for two years, followed by 12–18 months in bottle.
