Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are harvested in San Martino, Ripa Teatina and Bucchianico, at the foot of impressive ravines. The vineyards are high-density and yields per hectare are very low, which gives wines of excellent balance and concentration.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and undergo 12 hours of cryomaceration at low temperatures. The must is fermented in oak barriques for 15 days.
Ageing
The wine is aged for about a year. After filtration and bottling it matures in the bottle for a further year. Together with the quality of the grapes, this gives elegance, excellent structure and softness.
Serving and pairing
Decanting is recommended so the wine can show its full sensory character.
Vintage notes
The winter brought little rainfall and was windy but not particularly cold. Spring temperatures were below average with almost no rain, and all the varieties showed even, balanced budbreak. The summer was very dry. Harvest began on 25 August, after which some rainfall helped restore a good balance in the grapes. It ended on 4 November.
Label / history
The "Marina Cvetic" range is named after Marina Cvetic, wife of Gianni Masciarelli and current head of the Masciarelli winery. Its wines are structured and elegant.
