Vineyard and terroir
Pinot Grigio grows particularly well in vineyards in the lower part of Merano and the surrounding area, at 280–350 m above sea level. The vines are 10–15 years old.
Grapes
Pinot Grigio has pale red skins with a grey sheen. The grapes are vinified by traditional white winemaking methods, giving a white wine from reddish-skinned grapes.
Vinification
After harvest the grapes undergo 12 hours of cold maceration in the press. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in small stainless steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine rests for 5 months on the fine lees.
Tasting profile
Fresh, aromatic and easy to drink, in keeping with the character of the local terroir.
Serving and pairing
Suited to an everyday meal as well as a festive occasion.
