Vineyard and terroir

The Sauvignon Blanc comes from a 1 ha vineyard in the municipality of Buttrio, at 120 m above sea level. The vines grow on east-facing slopes with a south-eastern exposure. The soils consist mainly of Eocene marl rich in mineral deposits, limestone and calcium. The vineyard is farmed organically without chemical fertilisers.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in early September and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in wooden barrels at a controlled temperature for 15–20 days, depending on grape ripeness. The wine is lightly filtered before bottling.

Ageing

The wine matures for at least 10 months in wooden barrels, 50% of which are new, followed by a further two months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Bright and expressive, with fragrant floral and citrus aromas. The palate is rich and balanced without being heavy, supported by refreshing acidity and followed by a long, mineral finish.
