Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Tuscany on hillside vineyards with clay soils, at 60–90 m above sea level. The vines are between 8 and 20 years old.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place under controlled temperature, followed by 14–22 days of skin maceration, depending on the variety. Malolactic fermentation occurs in French oak barrels.
Ageing
The wine matures in oak barrels for 12 months, followed by a further 12 months in bottle in the winery’s cellars.
Tasting profile
The 2016 vintage has aromas and flavours of sweet cherry, plum, lavender, spice, menthol and liquorice. It is dense, rich and concentrated, with remarkable depth, varied textures and a layered, highly expressive finish. Its character is luxurious and seductive.
