Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a 1-hectare vineyard in Veneto, northeast of Verona, on the hill separating Montorio from Valle d’Illasi. The site was planted in 2007 at a density of 4,000 vines per hectare. Its soils combine scaia and clay. Yield is 2 kg per vine, and the 2024 grapes were harvested on 5 September.
Grapes
50% Traminer and 50% Garganega.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in steel, with periodic pump-overs. The wine is then racked and undergoes malolactic fermentation before transfer to cement.
Ageing
Maturation lasts 6 months in cement.

Vintage notes
January 2024 was slightly colder than the recent average and brought substantially more precipitation than the preceding five years. A mild, relatively dry start to spring was followed by frequent rain in May and June, complicating vineyard work and downy-mildew control, although infections were managed more effectively than in 2023. July brought markedly higher daytime temperatures, tempered by cooler evenings. Less severe rainfall in August relieved the vines and helped the earlier-ripening grapes reach full maturity. More frequent rain after mid-September slowed ripening and affected later-picked grapes, but most of the fruit for this wine had already been harvested. The estate regarded the outcome of the extended harvest as very positive.
