Vineyard and terroir
The organically farmed Vigna Godenza vineyard lies at 300–340 metres above sea level. Its sandy soils contribute a distinctive savoury character. The Sangiovese vines were planted in 1999.
Grapes
The fruit includes a selection of different Sangiovese clones.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in the second week of September. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, followed by 28 days of maceration and malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine is matured without oak: nine months in steel tanks followed by 12 months in bottle in the Noelia Ricci cellars.
