Vineyard and terroir

Laurento is associated with Podere Laurento, whose vineyards face south-west. The technical sheet describes clay, medium-textured soil. The vines average 15 years of age and yield 70 quintals per hectare (7 t/ha).

Grapes

100% Sangiovese.

Vinification

Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in vertical stainless-steel vinifiers, with a long maceration.

Ageing

The wine matures for 24 months in 30 hL Slavonian oak casks.

Technical data

Romagna DOC Sangiovese Riserva. The published vintage is 2023. Alcohol: 14% vol. Available in 0.375 L, 0.75 L, 1.5 L, 3 L and 9 L formats.

Tasting profile

Garnet red. The broad aromatic profile combines violet, blackberry, plum, sour cherry preserved in alcohol, a delicate tomato-leaf nuance and tobacco. Dry, ample and decisive on the palate, with warmth, refined tannins, harmony and finesse; the finish is elegant.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 16 °C. Pair with substantial first courses, lasagne, gnocchi with wild-boar sauce, tagliatelle al ragù, meats and mature cheeses.

Vintage notes

The wine page gives an ageing capacity of 8–10 years, while the technical sheet gives 15 years.
